How to Resolve iMin Cash Drawer Issues in Loyverse

This guide is essential for UK businesses using iMin "All-in-One" terminals. Because these devices house the printer and the cash drawer port within the same chassis, Loyverse often requires a specific configuration to "talk" to the hardware correctly. 

Affected iMin Models

This fix is specifically required for iMin models with integrated thermal printers, as the Android system handles the internal connection differently than an external USB or Ethernet printer.

• iMin Swan 2 (The flagship desktop model with the built-in 80mm Seiko printer).

• iMin Falcon 1 (The compact all-in-one with the integrated printer).

• iMin D4 (The high-performance large-screen desktop with built-in printing).

• iMin D2 (The smaller footprint desktop series with integrated 58mm/80mm options).

If you are using any of the models above and your drawer won't open, follow these instructions to set up the internal printer as a Bluetooth device within Loyverse. This allows the app to send the necessary "kick" command to the hardware port.

1. Access the Printer Setup

• Sign in to Loyverse POS as an employee with administrative permissions.

• Navigate to Settings on the left-hand sidebar.

• Ensure Printers is highlighted and click the green ‘+’ icon at the bottom right to enter the Create printer screen.

2. Configure the Internal Connection

• Printer Name: Give it a clear name (e.g., "iMin Internal").

• Printer Model: Choose Other model.

• Interface: Choose Bluetooth.

• Search for Device: Click the Search button. When the results appear, select BluetoothPrinter.

• Paper Width: Set to 80mm (or 58mm if using the smaller D2 variant).

• Enable Features: Toggle Print Receipt and Bills to ON. It should look the same as the above image. 

3. Set the "Kick" Command (Advanced Settings) (Once above is done)

This is the technical bridge that triggers the physical RJ11/RJ12 drawer port on your iMin device.

• Click Advanced Settings at the bottom of the screen.

• Locate the section titled Initial ESC/POS commands.

• Under Drawer ESC/POS commands, input the following value: 10,14,00,00,00

  • Note: You do not need to type the commas; the app will input them automatically as you enter the numbers.

4. Save and Test

• Click the back arrow at the top left.

• Hit Save.

• Return to Register mode and finalise a Cash transaction. The drawer should now fire open automatically as the receipt prints.

Why this works for iMin Hardware

In the UK, most EPOS hardware uses a "Printer-Driven" drawer. Because iMin's printer is internal, the Android operating system treats the connection as a local serial/Bluetooth bridge. Using the "Other Model / Bluetooth" setting combined with the 10,14,00,00,00 command ensures the signal is routed correctly through the iMin motherboard to the drawer solenoid.

Troubleshooting Checklist:

• Voltage: Ensure your cash drawer is a 24V model. 12V drawers may fail to trigger or cause long-term damage to the iMin port.

• Key Lock: Always check that the drawer key is in the vertical (unlocked) position.

• Cable: Ensure you are using a standard RJ11/RJ12 cable (which looks like a slightly wider telephone plug).
