The Ubiquiti UISP Switch Plus is a high-capacity Layer 2 switch purpose-built for Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) and micro-pop deployments. Designed to sit at the tower base or within a central communications hub, it bridges high-speed fibre backhaul with multi-gigabit wireless distribution hardware.

With a total non-blocking switching capacity of 100 Gbps, this unit handles heavy throughput loads without bottlenecking local traffic.

• Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Access: Equipped with four 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports. This faster standard prevents link saturation when feeding high-throughput sector antennas and point-to-point wireless bridges.

• 10G Fibre Uplinks: Features four 10G SFP+ ports. These allow for massive bandwidth routing back to your core network, daisy-chaining multiple switches, or connecting directly to high-speed incoming fibre lines.

• Centralised WISP Management: Fully monitored via the Ubiquiti UISP application. This platform gives you a single interface to manage customer queues, monitor link metrics, configure VLANs, and track power consumption across your entire distribution site.

Power Over Ethernet & Redundancy

The UISP-S-PLUS features a substantial 160W PoE budget using the included mains power supply. It delivers 27V Passive PoE, which matches the native power requirements of standard Ubiquiti airMAX, LTU, and Wave deployment hardware.

Power Redundancy Warning: To protect against mains power failure on critical infrastructure sites, the switch includes a built-in Power TransPort DC input. This allows you to connect an external 27V DC auxiliary power system, ensuring your wireless distribution stays online during a local power cut.

Deployment & Mounting Layouts

The unit's form factor allows it to adapt to whatever site layout you encounter:

1. Desktop Setup: Rubber feet are included for flat placement inside communications cabinets or shelves.

2. Wall / Rack Mounting: Brackets are provided to secure the chassis flush against a solid wall or integrated into a standard 19-inch equipment rack (occupying 1U of space).

3. Outdoor Tower Use: While the internal chassis is steel, you can deploy this switch directly on an exposed mast or tower by housing it within the optional weatherproofing UISP Box Plus enclosure.
