Generational Performance Upgrades

The primary reason to deploy the U6+ over legacy entry-level access points is its architectural upgrade across both operational frequency bands. While older hardware models restricted Wi-Fi 6 protocols strictly to the 5 GHz band, the U6+ implements full Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) processing across both frequencies simultaneously:

• True Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Processing: Enhances the performance of legacy IoT hardware and smart devices operating on the 2.4 GHz band, alongside modern high-speed mobile clients on the 5 GHz band.

• 160 MHz Channel Bandwidth Support: Opens up wide frequency channels on the 5 GHz band, effectively doubling transmission speeds for heavy data transfers, local server backups, and high-bitrate video streaming.

• 4 Spatial Streams Matrix: Utilizes a balanced 2x2 multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) layout across both internal radio blocks to ensure data packets move fluidly to multiple connected devices at the same time.

Power & Backward Compatibility Note: The U6+ is powered using standard 44–57V DC Power over Ethernet (PoE) fed into its single Gigabit RJ45 port. With a highly optimized maximum power consumption of just 9 Watts, it can run cleanly off entry-level PoE switches. Conveniently, the U6+ uses the exact same physical mounting dimensions as the older U6-Lite and nanoHD access points, allowing you to twist-lock it onto existing mounting brackets without drilling new holes.
