Departing from the bulkier footprints of standard cellular gateways, the Ultra variant shrinks the hardware chassis down to a pocket-sized form factor optimized for installation inside cramped electrical control panels, automated retail kiosks, remote telemetry enclosures, and utility boxes.

Operating seamlessly within the UniFi ecosystem with optional Mobility Cloud centralized tracking, the UMR-ULTRA provides automated network fallback routing to ensure remote hardware arrays remain permanently online.

Ultra-Compact Hardware & Failover Intelligence

Despite its micro footprint, the UMR-ULTRA provides heavy-duty routing capabilities tailored for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication paths:

• 150 Mbps Mobile Broadband Pipelines: Powered by a carrier-unlocked LTE Category 4 wireless radio module, sustaining real-world mobile download speeds up to 150 Mbps and upload paths up to 50 Mbps via a native nano-SIM slot.

• Three-Way Automatic Failover Routing: Programmed to handle automated priority switching across three independent avenues. The core routing engine seamlessly balances and shifts traffic between your wired WAN copper drop, local 4G cellular data lines, and incoming Wi-Fi links to prevent localized network blackouts.

• Enterprise VPN Tunnel Routing: Natively handles secure site-to-site VPN encryption parameters and secure VPN client routing directly on the hardware layer, safeguarding remote equipment data transfers against public cellular intercepts.

External RF Antenna Infrastructure Map

Unlike the standard UMR which utilizes fixed internal elements, the UMR-ULTRA is equipped with three physical, external threaded SMA connection ports. This allows engineers to unscrew the factory stick antennas and run low-loss coaxial cabling out to heavy-duty, high-gain external aerials mounted outside of metal server racks or concrete utility boxes:

• Dual Inbound Power Layouts: Features two independent input interfaces designed for field versatility. Technicians can supply power via a standard 5V DC, 2A USB Type-C link or hardwire the device into industrial battery blocks using the integrated 4-pin ATX DC power socket supporting wide 9–30V DC input windows.

• Widened Industrial Thermal Envelope: Built with an aluminum alloy and polycarbonate core designed for superior passive thermal regulation. Without internal moving cooling fans, it operates continuously in unconditioned enclosures through extreme seasonal ambient temperatures ranging from a freezing -30°C up to a scorching 70°C.

Wired Interface Note: To minimize structural space, the UMR-ULTRA utilizes two 10/100 Fast Ethernet (FE) RJ45 copper ports rather than full Gigabit interfaces. This configuration is specifically tailored to balance the throughput limits of standard Category 4 LTE lines (150 Mbps maximum bandwidth) while drastically reducing the active heat output and operational power draw down to just 5.7 Watts peak.
