The iMin KDS series features commercial-grade Android hardware purpose-built to handle the intense, fast-paced environment of professional kitchens. Replacing traditional paper tickets, these robust touchscreen monitors centralise incoming orders directly from your front-of-house point of sale (POS) terminal, reducing human error and improving ticket times.
Unlike standard consumer tablets, both models are housed in durable, grease-resistant casings designed to protect internal components against long-term exposure to heat, airborne cooking oils, and heavy steam.
Key Hardware Features
Environmentally Sealed Engineering
Both screens feature an oil-proof and smoke-resistant exterior casing. This specialised build prevents soot and grease from building up inside the chassis, which is the primary cause of hardware failure in commercial food preparation areas.
High-Definition Responsive Touchscreens
Equipped with multi-point capacitive touch panels, these displays provide clear viewing angles and accurate touch responses, even when operated by staff wearing kitchen gloves or working with damp hands.
Direct Wall & Gantry Mounting
Designed for flexible placement above prep lines or near the pass, both units support standard mounting brackets, allowing them to be securely bolted to walls, vertical pillars, or suspended kitchen gantries.

Key Applications
-
Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Prep Lines: Organises high volumes of incoming orders into clear, colour-coded digital columns, ensuring chefs can track preparation times and clear tickets with a single tap.
-
Main Kitchen Pass Monitors: The large 21.5" K1-101 is ideal for head chefs tracking the status of multiple stations simultaneously, ensuring all components of a large table order finish together.
-
Dark Kitchens & Delivery Hubs: Consolidates multiple external delivery platform orders into one single interface, removing the need for separate delivery tablets and noisy receipt printers.
-
Coffee Shop Barista Screens: The compact 15.6" model fits onto narrow counter gantries, helping baristas manage drink orders without paper tickets cluttering the espresso machine workspace.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which model is best suited for my kitchen layout?
The choice depends on your viewing distance and available space. The 15.6" KDS (IM-DS116A006) features a smaller footprint, making it ideal for tight individual prep stations or coffee bars. The K1-101 (IM-K1-101) features a much larger 21.5" display, which allows kitchen staff to comfortably read up to 12 separate order tickets from across the room without needing to stand close to the monitor.
Do these screens require a separate computer to run KDS apps?
No. Both units are fully independent, all-in-one Android computers. They run on Android 11 with the optimised iMin UI, allowing you to install your preferred Android-compatible Kitchen Display System app directly onto the internal storage.
Can I mirror the screen output onto a secondary monitor?
The K1-101 model includes a dedicated HDMI output port, allowing you to clone the kitchen display onto a much larger overhead TV screen or secondary monitor at the pass. The 15.6" model does not include an external video output port.
How do these screens connect to my main POS network?
Both models feature dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz / 5GHz) and Bluetooth connectivity for wireless deployment. However, for maximum stability in dense kitchen environments where wireless signals can be blocked by heavy stainless steel equipment, we recommend using the physical RJ45 Ethernet port for a hardwired network connection.
How do I clean grease and residue off the displays safely?
Because these units are built specifically for hospitality back-of-house environments, the screens can be wiped down regularly. Turn off the screen and use a clean microfibre cloth slightly dampened with a mild, non-abrasive display cleaner or isopropyl alcohol solution to clear away grease. Avoid spraying liquid cleaner directly onto the edges of the casing.
